Dark brown hair and red highlights?

when im older i reaally want to get red highlights on my hair but red highlights only look nice with black hair and i dont want to ruin my hair by dying it black...do you think red highlights loook pretty with dark brown hair? i also need some pictures to make up my mind =]

you have to choose the right red to compliment your natural shade, but it looks really good.

I had this done in April 07. I have medium brown hair and I had bright red highlights down. They were great to begin with and looked gorgeous but i noticed that after a week or so (7-10 washes) the highlights dramatically faded to a coppery colour even thought they were dyed permanently. Apparently red dye fades quicker than most other colours. I will add a picture if I can find one.

if thats what you want then go for it. its not like the die will stay there for ever. i also have dark brown hair, and im thinking about getting the tips died red. but i definitly think you should die it.
