Highlights and dying hair help!?

k im 17 and never had my hair dyed or highlighted i wanted to get it died a lighter color then highlighted. but in a month wen it starts growing back in does that mean i have to redye it and then pay for highlights all over again to maintain the way i want my hair. Or can they just redye the roots and rehighlight them?

The colour will start to fade, but not very noticeably if you've got a natural colour. They can do re-touches on your roots so its fine if you want to get it done! Good luck =]

highlights are definitely less maintenance. Once your hair starts to grow out, it is less noticable if you get highlights than if you dye all of your hair. But really, its up to you. If you really want to change up your hair, dye it. If you just want to go subtle, highlight it. You will have to redo your hair at least 5 times a year whether you get highlights or if you dye it, so really the choice is yours! good luck! =)

They can just touch up the roots. I got my hair dyed and highlighted at 16 for the first time and even though you could see my roots it still looks nice!! To save money get it done at a beauty school, ask for a senior though.

you will have to continue to get highlights eventually you will want to start lowlighting darker because you will have almost full coverage of highlights.

Yesss you can redye your roots.

%26amp;%26amp; you don't have to do it professionally to look good.

$7 for a box, and if you do it correctly it will look like a professional did it.

actually, you'll need root touch ups every month and highlight touch ups every 2. it'll ruin your hair if you change it too dramatically too often. trust me, I know. I went from blonde too black so my hair is really thick and dry.
