i think self expression is very important in young people. maybe 10 is a little young but maybe starting around 13 be lenient with style choices (dont let the teen go out in something with everything hangin out) but let them dye their hair or wear a shirt they cut up and remade. if you try to control the superficial things they will act out and do more damaging activities. if you let them put a little dye in their hair and suffer through the occasional rock concert (that you attend but stand unnoticed in the back of the room) i'm sure you'll find that the little wiggle room will let your child develop and have the freedom they need to see where they stand with the world.

if used just at home for a bit of fun, but washed out when going out. my sister is 10 and if i had one id use it on her hair every now and then however there is no way my mum would let her have one yet. 12 yrs old is about the right age to start introducing these things. But it is parents choice!
