How do you do highlights in your hair without using a cap?

Is there any way that you can dye your hair with highlights without using a cap but without them looking like giant clumps of died hair? If you have an idea PLEASE E-MAIL ME !!!

I tried to do that once, I used an old paint brush! lol! Not such a good idea!

My fringe was just totally blonde!(in my naturally brown hair) I learnt that putting little thin streaks in you're own hair with a thick paint brush wasn't the answer!

The next day I ended up going out(wearing my bandana in an attemped to hide my hideous hair! lol!) to buy some brown hair dye and dying it back to its natural colour!

Enough about my mistake!!! now, the other day I saw this magazine with a streaks kit. It comes with a brush- that kinda looks like a masscara brush and there is kinds for ALL different shades of hair colour, it works on natural OR allready coloured hair. And you just follow the intructions, mix the solution up I s'pose and use the brush to brush it on where you wish for it to be.

You should be able to find this hair kit in your Chemist, K-mart, Priceline, just any good shop! They are called "Garnier Multi-lights Kit" there is 4 different colours for different hair. The ad claims to take 20 minutes.

OR I found the other ad for Highlights in just one step- without a cap, it's called "Schwarzkopf Duo-colour Highlights" You get two different shades of the colour you want- so thats nice and natural!

OR you could always just go to the hair dressers and get them done there! I have done that before too. It was quite expensive! But still, they did an awesome job!

i think the bestthing for you to do is to go to a professional hair stylist in a salon. she or he will either do foil highlights or depending on the look you want maybe a technique called balayage.
