I just colored my highlighted hair and the highlights turned grayish/green. How can I correct this?

I colored my highlighted hair a light ash brown and where the highlights were it turned grayish/green. I tried a darker shade next and still have the same problem. Please help.

Putting any type of ash colour on something light will result in green hair, as ash has a green base. Your biggest problem is that you can't just put a full solid colour on highlights, they need to have a filler put on first, or else the colour will not take to them, and it ends up with the problem that you have now. Go to a salon, and have them do it properly, if you keep trying to fix it yourself, you will only end up with worse looking, very damaged hair. So it is worth the extra expense.

Yes. I agree. Go to a salon and let the pros handle it!

If you try any harder, it could get WORSE.

And if you are afraid to go out in public, wear a hat.

get hihlights that are the same coler as your hair right now dye the highliteg parts then re-dye your hair so the high lights blend in if that doesnt work then get some hair dye that covers tough grays and re-dye ur whole head.

You need to go back in with something, NOT ash...ASH = green...

To counteract the green, you'll need, probably something lighter, unless your wanting to go dark?? Not sure how dark, the darker shade was that you tried?

Not sure how dark, your wanting/willing to go???

You could go in with a dark auburn, and probably get the green out.

You could also try a dark auburn with equal parts of the lightest ultra blonde you can find..? {{NOTHING ASH}}

You will get a medium shaded auburn color, hopefully...it should help counteract the green..

You could also try, a light blonde hair color...{again nothing that says ash blonde, or anything like that~!} a platinum blonde type color..will counter act the ash tone's you are getting....

It all depends on how dark, you are willing to go. Going dark, is harder to get use to than going lighter...

anything with an eggplant coloring, would counteract the green, but it's going to be pretty dark, with a purply shade.

GOOD LUCK~

Try some ketsup - put it over your hair, wrap it and leave it 45 mins or so. If that doesn't work, go to salon to get it corrected.

Good Luck -I hate it when my hair gets messed up like that.

a good diet will make your hair healthy, which includes shine, silkiness, softness, strength, and manageability.

vitamin e is good for the hair

it is moisturizing

and vitamin a

is good for the scalp

and healthy hair growth

protein makes ur hair grow faster than anything else because

hair is basically made of protein

so

eat eggs.. and dairy products

yogurt, milk, soymilk, and tofu are great examples

citrus fruits are also good for the hair.. and seaweed has a lot of vitamin a. vitamin a can be found in leafy veggies and carrots, especially. it is important to drink enough water to keep ur hair hydrated. 8-10 glasses is suggested for healthy hair growth. also, iron plays an important role in maintaining and growing healthy hair. iron brings oxygen to the hair, allowing it to breathe like us basically

(not the same way obviously)

and so if u dont take enough iron.. ur hair will be starved of oxygen and lose its shine, luster, etc.

b vitamins are also great for the hair. salmon, coldwater fish, and sardines are great fish that contain many of the vitamins hair needs.

i hope this information helped you!!

ooohh! somebody is going to make some money off of you!

this is why you SHOULD go to a salon. if you are not educated in something why try it? because the t.v. commercial said it would be great?

if you didn't have your drivers' license would you drive on a curvy road as fast as they do on the commercials?

no.

knowledge is free education is not

put a medim strawberry blond %26lt;copper base or red orange%26gt; over it and let it sit for 20 minutes. This is what we do in the salon when that happens.
