Im asian, I have brownish black hair with tan skin, brown eyes, oval face. I always wanted to highlight my hair with caramel color but i didnt know what happened, my hair came out darker than what I wanted to. It really bothers me. i like it. i think it looks really nice. but whats bothering you about it? mabey you should of made the colour in bigger chunks instead of lots of tiny strands done. why dont you go back to the salon and ask for it to be lightened a couple more shades. it will work better the second time seeings its all ready lighter. the second time might not come out as coppery.

But if you want it lighter, then consider getting it redone professionally. Choose an even lighter shade than what you want the end result to be. Because you have naturally darker hair, whatever color you choose will come out darker than what it appears. If that seems too risky, you could ask if they can strip/bleach the parts of your hair you want colored before the color is added. This could lead to some problems, though, if the caramel color does not stick to the stripped hair. (This happened to my mom. She wanted to get some fun bright red streaks and because her hair was dark so they bleached it. The red didnt take to the bleached pieces and she was left with ugly white streaks.) You could end up having to get it redone again, and the whole process could end up costing a LOT of money. A more natural way to lighten your hair would be to put lemon juice in a spritz bottle, go outside in a nice fold out lawn chair, put on your shades and sit in the sun and every 5-10 minutes spritz your hair with the lemon juice untill you get to your desired color.
