If I dye my hair over the highlights, will it completely damage the hair?

I had highlights done the first time and they weren't very visible, so I went in the second time to touch up, but ended up highlighting all the hair again. Now I want dark hair again and want to recolor over the twice highlighted hair.

darker tint wont damage the hair, but if is not done properly it may be patchy also the h/lights will fade quicker than the rest, but usually holds the colour better on the second time

it depends on how long you have had the highligts. if longer than a couple of weeks, then no

Hi. If you're planning to dye your hair brown, make sure their is red pigments in it, or else your blonde highlights may turn greensh. In answer to your question your hair wont be damaged by using a dark dye as the hair is just being coloured but not stipped, as darker dyes contain no peroxide. However you may want to try a dye with apricot extarcts as this conditions the hair whilst colouring it. Hope this helps

it depends on your hair.

if you have thick hair then maybe.

if you have thin hair then no.

When you highlight your hair it strips it and leaves your hair rough and pourous. When you put color on top of the highlights the color with fill in the rough areas and leave your hair feeling better then it did. But like the others say, the highlights will fade for this same reason. Your hair will need multiple treatments to fully stay with out fading.

Make sure to use a color shampoo to keep your color lasting and to protect from the elements. Try:

閳?Hair is softer, shinier %26amp; more manageable.

Good Luck!
