Hair highlights and haircut?

i'm thinking of getting my hair higlighted for the first time. i have brown curly hair with a few natural light blonde highlights from the sun. i want a change but nothing to drastic. i straigten my hair and wear it down or up in a ponytail. would half a head or a full head be better? what color highlights would you suggest? and any other suggesttions.

thanks :)

I think you should try a hue of auburn, because it is not that drastic of a change from a brown with blonde highlights. I think that is the best hair coloring due to the fact that it's sort of irridescent, brown but the red plays in the light. You'd look gorgeous!

I agree, Rihanna's hair is really knock out.

the first highlights i got were red!the hardest to get out of hair...i finally got blonde over the red but the red turned it caramel..but the parts not on red were blonde it was a cute combo of colors!!caramel or blonde would be good.

Well I would say you can do only the top half high lighted. I did my daughters this way... see link:

I would have this done professionaly though. I have been doing hair for 15 years now. So my daughters hair is professionally done I guess. If at all possible I wouldn't use bleach. The stuff I used on my daughters hair is a redken product. If you go to a salon ask if they use redken color. If so then tell them that you want color fusion double blond N . You don't have to have your hair lighted as much as my daughters. My daughters is equally sections in streaks. More questions please email me by clicking on my pictures and then my email link.
