How soon do hair highlights start fading?

I had my hair highlighted yesterday. I'm now starting to think that it is too blonde now. Thought it looked quite blonde at the time but idn't say anything to the hair dresser as I thought it was just that initial feeling of change rather than actually feeling like I was unhappy with it. Anyway, can't afford to go back and have someone tone it down a bit. I wondered if and when it would dull down even just the slightest bit.

Once color is removed from the hair... is it gone. I would suggest a colored mousse or shampoo to tone the color. Roux makes some nice colored mousse. Spun sand or bashful blonde will darken and white minx will cut the gold. Good luck!

if she lightened your hair with bleach then there is no fading...that is the process of removing color-so it's there to stay. they will grow out but that is going to take forever. If you told your stylist yesterday that you weren't sure-call her today and ask her to fix it...there should be no charge! it was her doing, and it really only takes like an ounce of color and you sit for like 10-20 mins. but be careful, you may want to leave with wet hair cuz then they will charge you to blow it out.

First of all highlighted hair doesn't fade since the color has been stripped out of those areas. You will get use to it in a few days and then it won't seem like its so light any more, your just not use to it. You may even after a while wish that it was this light again and start to miss it.

You could call the person that did the highlights and ask if they could put a toner on it so that it isn't quite so light. Some times hair stylists will do that for you since they want you to be happy. But please don't wait too long to call the person do it as soon as you can and, let them know that you think it's a little more than you wanted and ask if they could put a toner on it.

They can put a semi permanent toner on it so that it will last for up to 4-6 weeks, depending on how often you wash your hair. By the time it wears off you will be a lot more use to the color of your hair.

highlights dont usually fade they just grow out. go back to the salon and tell them u feel a little too bright, they will put a toner on for u! i am a hairdresser if a client came back in to our salon that is what we would do, we would rather u be happy!!! good luck.
