I need a change as ive not highlighted my hair for few yrs and ive scared that ill mess it up by choosing the wrong colour.Im an Indian studying in Ukraine but im from malaysia.

You should try using henna. I'm an indian too and my aunt used henna and her hair looks cool, but if you do then you wouldn't be able to get highlights. if you want highlights then you should try like golden brown.

Red highlights are nice with dark brown hair. Or maybe some soft blonde ones too. Your best bet is to dye/highlight your hair with semi permanent hair dye. The kind that washes out in 12 shampoos in case you don't like the results. Once you've discovered which color you like the best, you can get more permanent color for your highlights.
Good luck with this and I hope you are pleased with the results. Dyeing one's hair is a real booster for your self esteem.

Caramel colored highlights would look sooooo hot in your hair.
Don't go with blonde highlights, it's too severe of a change in color.

Use more than one color for your highlights.Your deepest shade of highlight would be about 2 shades lighter than your natural color. Then again go up another 2,and for the last, up another 2. It does not have to be an exact two shades but you get the idea? all highlights should be thin , with the most around your face.This play of color on a brunette used to called tortoise-shelling..maybe that will you an idea of what it is colored like.You can also do this same technique using dark blondes, or reds for your highlights.

god, please don't. i've seen so many indian girls with blond highlights, it looks like crap, and it's not even blond, it's orange.
i has this whole consult with my hairdresser before i colored my hair, so i suggest you do that if possible.
otherwise, stick with reds and coppers, no yellows!

try something like golden blonde streaks.....my friend has the same color hair and face as yours and it looks awsome.....u can also try the temporary dyes.....just to c what suits u best....they last until u wash it off....and when u find what u like the best...go for it!
