A golden blonde. not ash. you have red/gold toned hair and the hilights should also be gold based. Not brassy-gold. think 14k.

Blond streaks in red hair is hot. Plus if your hair is auburn you will get Wow factor anyway. Would you rather look ordinary or standout?

The colour combination black-red is very powerful and might add "aggressivity" - consider how you'd like to affect others.

Coppery gold, or blondish. Your stylist is going to be able to tell you what would work with your tone the best.

Of those previously mentioned, by far the least common hair color present in the United States is Red hair, shared by only around three percent of the American population. Red hair which ranges from vivid strawberry shades to deep auburn and burgundy is found in Europeans, especially in the British Isles and is associated with the Celtic nations mainly Ireland, Scotland and Wales. It is less commonly found in peoples of Japan and some other areas of the world. It is a recessive gene and believed to be an uncommon one. It is also found in the Middle East, and appears uncommonly in those of African descent.

Red hair is genetically associated with lighter eye color, especially green, blue, and light to medium brown and pale, often melanin-less skin. Red hair has the highest amounts of phaeomelanin and the lowest of eumelanin. They have the thickest strands of hair and the lowest amounts of strands at 90,000.

I would reccomend:

brunette, brown, mahogany, chocolate, cinnamon, dark, chestnut

raven, midnight, dark, sable, ebony, jet, onyx, black, domino

auburn, chestnut, fiery, russet, ginger, scarlet, cinnamon

If you have red hair leave it like it is, you probably look damn good with it.

REDHEADS ROCK!

I have tried blonde highlights and gold tone highlights and even added some darker shade in the mix but I love my natural color and everyone always wishes I could color their hair the color that mine is naturally...you really can't get that look from pro colors no matter what they say. We are unique! And beautiful!

check out "redheads international" and you will soon realize we have a gift!! If you do get some hilights get someone who has done them before...a stylist...not a do it yourself job. Redhair is unique in a lot of ways and some pro's don't even know how to treat it.
